Bug#656196: [mbelow@antithese.de: Re: kernel stalls every few days (rcu_sched_state detected stall on CPU x)]

Another observation: These stalls seem to be related to my WLAN
connection, or maybe that's an effect, not a cause: I have noted
repeatedly that when the stall warning appears, Skype is offline (grey
icon), it goes online right afterwards. The syslog has no WLAN-related
messages, though.

The WLAn adapter is USB-based, it's a D-Link System AirPlus G DWL-G122
Wireless Adapter(rev.C1) [Ralink RT2571W]

I had some trouble with this adapter before, the rt2x00usb module would
crash the kernel, see
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=617277

This was fixed in 2.6.38. I think the current trouble started with the
kernel update after that -- from the logs, it looks like that was the
update to 3.0. I will try running 2.6.38 for a couple of days to see if
the stalls are not happening with that one.

Cheers

Michael
