No, they work without any problems.

You would think so. But as far as I have found, it seems that Xen does
the actual reboot itself.
So somewhere in these last moments, things differ.
We have hundreds of these boards and have spent quite some time to
narrow it down to this specifc BIOS change.
When we asked MSI, they sort of admitted, that they had indeed change
ACPI related items in the 8.7 BIOS release.

Both are kernel options.
