I'm afraid this sounds like a hardware problem, since the change in behaviour is not associated with a driver or firmware change. If there is a separate physical switch for wifi then perhaps the contacts are dirty or corroded, so that it is wrongly detected as being in the 'off' position. Is there a status light for the wifi switch? What does the command 'rfkill list' show after disconnection? Ben. -- Ben Hutchings Beware of programmers who carry screwdrivers. - Leonard Brandwein
