Sorry I didn't look at this earlier. This is a common problem with
several drivers, and there have been some general changes to reduce the
effects.
These remove the delay but result in a WARNING so the drivers will still
need to be fixed:

firmware loader: allow builtin firmware load even if usermodehelper is disabled
