Bug#636306: mount.nfs: page allocation failure. order:4, mode:0xc0d0

Hi!

We have got this problem on a NFS-server running Debian stable
amd64. The server has 8Gbyte memory and at times quite high load, but
mostly NFSv3. However, I can't experiment with the patch, this server
is too important and it is hard to schedule service-windows.

True to my offer - I could run up the patched kernel on a virtual machine here .. my problem was on a small 128mb memory system. I cannot test 8Gb but can try the patch on 128Mb if you want it.

It occurs you might instead like to avoid downtime and run a cron job every hour(?) say to locally mount and unmount the export? Chances are it will always keep the 64k memory block available for the user mounts.
