Bug#641665: linux-image-3.0.0-1-686-pae: i915 rendering problems; affects font rendering in some X11 apps

Package: linux-2.6
Version: 3.0.0-3
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

After upgrading to testing, some X11 apps, notably Iceweasel, started
to present font rendering errors (characters missing parts). This same
problem has been reported in Ubuntu [1]. It turns out that when booting
with stable's kernel (linux-image-2.6.32-5-686) the problem vanishes.

I have caught this message in one occasion; I don't know if it is related:

I haven't been able to cause it again, so couldn't get the content of
the mentioned file in /sys/kernel/debug.

I'm sending a screenshot of an affected screen attached. In this
instance, the 'h' character is misrendered, but it varies from execution
to execution.

I'm running on an Eee PC 900, it this helps.

Thanks in advance!
