Bug#640987: linux-image-2.6-xen-amd64: Do not call grub-install during install
Package: linux-image-2.6-xen-amd64
Version: 2.6.32+29
Severity: normal
During install of linux-image-2.6-xen-amd64 'grub-install' is being called.
If grub-install fails the package is not correctly configured.
Solution: call 'update-grub' which will merge the files in /etc/grub.d
and store the content in /boot/grub/grub.cfg
grub2 must be installed.
My problem was that grub-install failed. It was solved with 'recheck':
grub-install --recheck /dev/md1
/hans schou
