<Md> is there any reason to keep building the de4x5 driver, which has been
blacklisted by default by udev since forever?
<trave11er> i think it was relevant for alpha, there were two drivers claiming
the same PCI IDs (de4x5 and tulip?)
<trave11er> they had cards which would work with one but not the other
<trave11er> vorlon would remember :-)
<Md> trave11er: correct about de4x5 and tulip, but the driver is built for
de4x5 as well and is blacklisted for all architectures
<vorlon> s/they/I/
<vorlon> I don't think you'd want to build it on any architecture except
alpha... which we're not building for
<trave11er> the chances of people still encountering such problems are probably
pretty slim by now
<vorlon> still pretty high if they're running alpha; almost zero otherwise
<Md> and de4x5 on i386 has no aliases in modules.alias so it cannot be
autoloaded anyway
<vorlon> yep
<vorlon> so I would definitely stop building it. If and when someone comes
along who needs it again, they can work on getting tulip fixed instead
