Bug#639208: linux-image-3.0.0-1-amd64: Segfault everytime

First reported this bug several months ago. Apart from the advice to use a
different video driver (radeon instead of fglrx which doesn't help at all) I
have heard nothing. Nothing after the 2.6.32 kernel works here.
I can't trust reporting this bug running that kernel hence my report from the
only kernel that works here.
I can't unpack a compressed dvd (rar set from internet which unpacks fine under
2.6.32) is just one symptom.
Refer to my original bugreport #615397 but ignore the non-working youtube as
the newest 64bit flash plugin seems to work okay now.... All the rest applies.
I am stuck now on a kernel which is no longer in unstable and packages needing
to be held in dselect are mounting.; Thanks
