Previously you said 1.73 GHz... and Wikipedia doesn't mention a 1.53 GHz
version so I think that was correct.

Is 'Intel(R) SpeedStep technology' enabled in the BIOS?

Have you run any other kernel version or distribution, in which the
acpi-cpufreq driver?
