Package: linux-2.6
Version: 3.0.0-1
Severity: normal

Using kernel 3.0.0-1 the sound is very choppy (pulse, alsa, oss), while it
is perfectly fine on 2.6.39-2 (and always was with previous versions too).

As you can see on the logs, snd-hda-intel complains about:
hda-intel: Invalid position buffer, using LPIB read method instead.

and sometimes (not in this log, but happened a few times):
hda-intel: IRQ timing workaround is activated for card #0. Suggest a bigger bdl_pos_adj.

This looks like a pure driver regression to me since booting on 2.6.39-2 is
enough to get proper sound (so I guess it's not an alsa bug or something).

If you need any additional info, I'd be happy to give you them.

Regards,
Colomban

fixed 635362 3.0.0-2
thanks

The 3.0.0-2 upload included upstream 3.0.1 that fixed the bug, and it
now works actually fine on my machine.

Thanks!
