Bug#637284: Can't install wheezy on a 2011 iMac

Hi all,
With some advice from Miguel I've been able to blacklist radeon, with 
some positive results but still a problem.

Booting into the new system now doesn't display flashing lights any 
more, however the boot process stops with a message
"ID "co" respawning too fast - disabled for 5 minutes"

This message is flickering rapidly on a black screen, and nothing more 
happens.  Pushing the power button gave a normal shutting down message 
followed by shutdown.  Booting into rescue mode did allow me to get a 
root prompt which looked normal.  But when I exited the root shell I got 
the same behavior as above.  Normal launching of Gnome never happened.

I should probably retry the whole install with the 2.6.x kernel instead 
of 3.0.  I'll do this when I get time, and report.  I'm not very 
hopeful, though.
