That is a meta-package to supporting building additional kernel modules.
The correct package for the kernel you are running is
linux-image-2.6.39-2-amd64. Well, never mind, I have reassigned this.

Can you send the output of the command:
grep . /sys/class/rfkill/*/*
under 2.6.39, and under the previous version you were using.
