I found my laptop Lenovo x100e to be freezing when running.

Here are some details that I found out regarding the freeze:

It looks to be happening only when the display is powered off. E.g. it
does not freeze if I am working in Xorg, but when left idle it will
freeze in around an hour (I used ping from remote machine to get
timings plus found the trace in kern.log).

After the freeze the system does not react on any events like keyboard
or mouse and does not react on Ctrl+Alt+Del. It also becomes not
accessible by SSH. The only way to restore the system is by powering it
off and on.

Here is the trace that I have found in the kern.log:

That is the final one in log before the reboot. However the system
stopped responding pings around 15:18:33 (I used ping -D -t 5 on another system to get
this info).

I am using ATI proprietary driver from debian fglrx-driver package.

Here are all the things that I have found in dmesg that might be
relevant:

[ 1.040212] r8169 0000:02:00.0: irq 27 for MSI/MSI-X
[ 1.041078] eth0: RTL8168d/8111d at 0xffffc9000037e000, c8:0a:a9:a6:3d:fa, XID 081000c0 IRQ 27

[ 1.051615] eth0: unable to apply firmware patch

[ 11.235202] thinkpad_acpi: Not yet supported ThinkPad detected!

eth0 works in spite of missing rtl8168d-1.fw (not included in Debian
even in non-free).

Let me know if I can collect more infromation further to debug this
problem.
