I think you mean version 0.30.  Version numbers are not decimal
fractions - for example, version 0.10 is later than version 0.9.

I'm checking this with the developers at Atheros.

You should be able to use Linux 2.6.39 as the ath9k_htc driver in that
will work with an older firmware version.
