What?  No, that's not how it works.  As you can see at
<http://bugs.debian.org/620848>, the bug's marked as found in
v2.6.38-3; if you can reproduce it in a newer version, that's useful
information to provide, of course, but does not warrant a new bug
report.

While it would be nice to try 2.6.39-rc7 from experimental, more
useful would be to gently ping the linux-usb list and Alan Stern with
a reminder of the nature of the problem and indicating you are ready
to try out more patches or provide other information, since the first
attempt didn't work.
