Bug#617635: linux-image-2.6.32-5-amd64: Network connection

Please can you test Linux 2.6.38, available in the testing/wheezy and
unstable/sid? You would only need to install linux-image-2.6.38-2-amd64
and upgrade linux-base.

Tested with a clean barebones install of Debian 6.0, kernel 2.6.32-5-amd64 (generic, includes all drivers). Same results as previous tests.

Tested with kernel 2.6.38-2-amd64 and linux-base installed from sid/unstable repository, same results again. In all three of my tests with 2.6.38-2, the SFTP transfer of a 450 MB file froze randomly, and the host stopped responding over the network. Hitting any key on the keyboard connected to the host immediately resumed network connectivity. If I let the host sit for a few minutes without intervention, network connectivity eventually resumed and these two lines were written to the kernel log:

[ 582.394106] Clocksource tsc unstable (delta = 7908293844 ns)
[ 582.400116] Switching to clocksource hpet
