Bug#571035: [an older bugreport] ide controller not supported by libata, but was supported by ide_generic [Was: installationsreport: grub2: machine doesn't boot]



Hello Holger,

FYI on my workaround status.  I've done two types of installations. An
upgrade and clean install and both work as long as you add ide-generic
to the modules file so it can be found after the first boot.

I have no idea what direction a real fix will take considering the
desire to move away from ide-generic.
