unable to mount microsoft dfs share

as root:
mount -t cifs -o credentials=/root/user.txt -o workgroup=WG -o rw //test.domain.de/DB_001/Project/BO2 /root/bo2

error message: object is remote

the same share can be accessed using smbclient.

(Ubuntu 8.1 with 2.6.27 does not work either)
