Package: linux-image-2.6.26-1-amd64 Version: 2.6.26-5 Severity: grave Hello, this bug is somewhat related to #499046 and #498328: with the above kernel version, after about 3 days of uptime the system completely freeze, without writing anything in /var/log/{messages,kern.log,syslog}. Usually it's anticipated by a crazy char repetition (like in #498328) or somethings by a system slowdown until freeze. This usually happen when I do something particular "heavy": like restarting a service like mysql, or "apt-get"-ing something. I cannot no anything; something the situation resolve like in #499046, so after a couple of minutes I have access back to my workstation, other times I'm not so lucky and the machine completely freezes, not even ssh remote access is allowed. I'm available to do tests, if needed, and now I'm forced back to 2.6.25, hoping the situation with this kernel will be better. The machine is an up-to-date sid. This has not been reproduced on the current kernel version in any suite; therefore closing. Ben. -- Ben Hutchings Once a job is fouled up, anything done to improve it makes it worse.Attachment: signature.asc
