- Subject: linux-image-2.6.32-5-686: kernel does not recognize track pad properly
- From: Neil Katz <amnnk@earthlink.net>
- Date: Mon, 14 Feb 2011 02:42:37 -0500

Package: linux-2.6
Version: 2.6.32-30
Severity: normal
Tags: patch
The kernel failed to recognize a Elantech touch pad on a Dell Inspiron 1010
(Mini 10). The synaptics driver loaded and then unloaded. The touch pad
was recognized as a Logitech ImPS/2 Wheel Mouse.
There are patches to the psmouse driver whose installation was described
here:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=9175201#post9175201
These patches fixed the problem for me.
