Package: linux-2.6 Version: 2.6.32-30 Severity: normal *** Please type your report below this line *** Hi, The Asus WL-167g USB wifi dongle doesn't work with 2.6.32, it never gets an address when DHCP is used. A static configuration does however work. Others[0] have apparently had the same problem but, I didn't find a bug report. According to this Ubuntu bug[1], this is a problem that has been resolved in 2.6.36 (I have confirmed this both on .36 and .37) but no word of a specific fix. There's also a very similar bug for Fedora[2], but concerning rt2500pci. When I have a little more time, I will try a bisect between .35 and .36 and see if I can track down what fixed this. Any pointers in the right direction is welcome. 0. http://lists.debian.org/debian-user/2010/02/msg01959.html 1. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/468072 2. https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=457441 -- Package-specific info: ** Version: Linux version 2.6.32-5-686 (Debian 2.6.32-30) (ben@decadent.org.uk) (gcc version 4.3.5 (Debian 4.3.5-4) ) #1 SMP Wed Jan 12 04:01:41 UTC 2011 ** Command line: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.32-5-686 root=UUID=1e2f54c2-b7b9-48bb-8af6-743dc5179c9e ro quiet ** Not tainted ** Kernel log: [ 5.877933] [drm] register mmio size: 65536 [ 5.878963] [drm] GPU reset succeed (RBBM_STATUS=0x00000140) [ 5.878996] agpgart-via 0000:00:00.0: AGP 3.5 bridge [ 5.879016] agpgart-via 0000:00:00.0: bridge is in legacy mode, falling back to 2.x [ 5.879024] agpgart-via 0000:00:00.0: putting AGP V2 device into 4x mode [ 5.879083] radeon 0000:01:00.0: putting AGP V2 device into 4x mode [ 5.879088] [drm] radeon: VRAM 128M [ 5.879091] [drm] radeon: VRAM from 0x00000000 to 0x07FFFFFF [ 5.879094] [drm] radeon: GTT 128M [ 5.879096] [drm] radeon: GTT from 0xE0000000 to 0xE7FFFFFF [ 5.879158] [drm] radeon: irq initialized.
