Since doing apt-get upgrade today Debian system is useless.  The display is all wrong. I have no idea where to start.

Okay, now two out of three people who reported the problem confirmed it
is fixed in 2.6.38-rc6, the third person has not replied (yet).  I think
this is enough to close the bug.
