I've already got 2.6.32-20, significantly newer than the -16 you're 
mentioning.  There is a -21 version on backports that I will try out as 
soon as I can.  If you'd like me to try something even newer, please 
tell me how to either get a binary package that's compatible with Lenny, 
or how to go about building it myself in a way that results in a package.

To make it easier to see what's different in the logs you already have, 
I stripped off the first several columns of the two kernel logs and 
diffed them.  Attached.
