it is not up to initramfs-tools to support cats and dogs,
but to the respecitive package maintainer to add appropriate hooks.
see man initramfs-tools for appropriate boot and initramfs hooks.

if you need guidance happy to do so.


concerning fstype btrfs recognition in general, this will land
for klibc 1.5.18 awaiting dash sync review.
