OK. I've build the kernel, and still the mic is not recognised and
building alsa-source fails.
One thing I noticed, during boot (or after a modprobe snd-hda-intel) I
get the following error message:
warning: 'alsactl restore 0' failed with error message 'Unkown
hardware: "HDA-Intel" "SigmaTel STAC 9228"
"HDA83847616,120280209,00100402" "0x1028" "0x0209"'
and then claims it starts using a guessing method. If I remember
correctly, it always gave this error message, even when it all worked.

Anyway, it still doesn't work with 2.6.33. Shall I continue and file a
bug upstream?

Regards,
Sjoerd
