Package: installation-reports Severity: important -- Package-specific info: Boot method: USB-Stick Image version: http://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/lenny_di_rc1/i386/iso-cd/debian-testing-i386-netinst.iso Date: 2009-1-21 Machine: Fujitsu Siemens Esprimo P7935 E80+ Partitions: none Base System Installation Checklist: [O] = OK, [E] = Error (please elaborate below), [ ] = didn't try it Initial boot: [O] Detect network card: [E] Configure network: [ ] Detect CD: [ ] Load installer modules: [ ] Detect hard drives: [ ] Partition hard drives: [ ] Install base system: [ ] Clock/timezone setup: [ ] User/password setup: [ ] Install tasks: [ ] Install boot loader: [ ] Overall install: [ ] Comments/Problems: The installer is not able to detect the ethernet card (onboard). The e1000e module should to but does not. I assume this is because the card is reported as [8086:10de] and the e1000e module included only knows about [8086:10da] and [8086:10d9] (is it possible to fake this?). I attached the output of lspci -s 00:19 -vvv below at the end of the hardware summary. Any hints? Thanks a lot, Klaus -- Please make sure that the hardware-summary log file, and any other installation logs that you think would be useful are attached to this report. Please compress large files using gzip. This package contains libparted, the required shared library used by Parted. This is a cut-down package with no normal documentation intended to be used in debian-installer. . Parted currently supports DOS, Mac, Sun, BSD, GPT, MIPS and PC98 disklabels/partition tables, as well as a 'loop' (raw disk) type which allows use on RAID/LVM. Filesystems which are currently fully supported are ext2, ext3, fat (FAT16 and FAT32), ReiserFS (with libreiserfs) and linux-swap. Parted can also detect and remove HFS (Mac OS), JFS, NTFS, UFS (Sun and HP), XFS and ASFS/AFFS/APFS (Amiga) filesystems, but cannot create, resize or check these filesystems yet. . Note that ReiserFS support is only enabled if you install the libreiserfs0.3-0 package. Since libreiserfs0.3-0 has been removed from sarge, ReiserFS support is not compiled in the default package. . The nature of this software means that any bugs could cause massive data loss.
