Bug#606112: linux-image-2.6.32-5-amd64: using startx results in black screen with locked hardware

Andreas,
In case this helps, I am running the same kernel, but an older ATI hw
(ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3870 X2), however it's a newer driver (couple of
weeks old TOT from git):
II) Loading /opt/xorg/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/radeon_drv.so
(II) Module radeon: vendor="X.Org Foundation"
	compiled for 1.7.7, module version = 6.13.99
	Module class: X.Org Video Driver
ABI class: X.Org Video Driver, version 6.0
and this all is fine, in fact including most GL stuff.
