I have the same problem, copying files to flash drives is slow (100KB/s)
running Squeeze 2.6.32-5-amd64 (Debian 2.6.32-27). I have the same
controller:

00:12.2 USB Controller: ATI Technologies Inc SB700/SB800 USB EHCI
Controller
00:13.2 USB Controller: ATI Technologies Inc SB700/SB800 USB EHCI
Controller

I don't get any errors, it's just slow.
