Bug#592415: Bug#592955: linux-image-2.6.35-trunk-686: Can’t see mouse pointer in X

The mouse pointer works fine: I can right–click to get context menus
and select any of the menu items to activate it. Focus–follows–mouse
also works fine, only I can’t see where the pointer is located.

The problem goes away as soon as I boot using the 2.6.34 kernel,
installed a while ago from experimental.

Hi Andrea, you are facing the same bug i reported in #592415, same under all aspect. And interestingly you have the same graphic chipset as me: i855. This reinforce in me the idea that it could be related to the kernel graphics driver.

In the meantime upstream has released 2.6.35.1 and 2.6.35.2 and looking in the log seems that 2.6.35.1 has some fixes on the intel graphic side. Let's wait for an updated Debian kernel to see if it's fixed: Maks said he will upload in these days.

Kernel-team: i think this two bug can be merged.

Cesare.
