Bug#587014: screen brightness can't be modified on Panasonic S9

Package: linux-2.6
Severity: normal

I just tried with 2.6.34, and it doesn't work either:
* in GNOME, pressing the light up/down keys trigger the little gnome
on-screen display showing a supposed brightness change, but the screen
  brightness in unchanged
* in console mode, pressing these keys does nothing (and i noticed
  nothing in the logs)

(trying with reportbug this time; tell me if any extra info is needed)
