I would like to share maintainership.Here's the debdiff for the changes I'd like to make now. We should probably import nfs-utils into a VCS somewhere, but I'm not sure how best to do that with a v3.0 package.
One approach is git-buildpackage + the following in debian/rules: clean:: [ ! -d .pc ] || [ ! -f .pc/applied-patches ] || QUILT_PATCHES=debian/patches quilt pop -a [ ! -d .pc ] || [ -f .pc/* ] || rm -rf .pcAbove (slightly more convoluted) is what was applied to the JACK[1] packaging yesterday, after discussion[2] in the Multimedia list.
Off course it depends highly on your preferred VCS habits, but I guess as kernel hackers you would want to use Git so I suspect it won't be far off from your wants.
