Package: linux-2.6
Severity: wishlist

Hi,

I've recently installed xen hypervisor and linux-image from unstable, because I had problems with stability of lenny's kernel (see #573210). All domUs are clean lenny, but kernel from unstable needs modules installed in domU filesystem to run so I'had to add unstable repositories into domUs. I think that this is not optimal solution (In case when you have 10 and more domUs). So I downloaded kernel source(2.6.32-10) from kernel.org and configured it to work without modules (for running domU you need only xennet and xen I/O drivers). I think that in case of further upgrades this will save all problems with unmatching modules installed in domU and upgrade could be done only in dom0.

Thanks,

No, we won't support monolitic kernels.
