Package: linux-2.6
Version:2.6.32~rc8-1~experimental.1
Severity: important

Hello there.
First of all, thanks for supplying this package that fast.

I'm experimenting problems when trying to boot from a luks-encrypted
root filesystem under 2.6.32-trunk-amd64.
Unfortunately, I was not able to find wheter it's a problem located on
the initramfs hooks or the kernel support, though I suspect that it's
more related to the first one.

As I was unable to find any related information neither on kernel's
bugzilla nor any search engine, I filed this bug here. Therefore, I ask
for apologies in case it's not a bug produced by the kernel itself and
close it immediately with my apologies on them.

Although I'm not sure it help in any way, I leave here the output of
both identical setups, my thinkpad x61 and a regular desktop:

[ 5.188756] hda: cache flushes supported
[ 5.189188] hda: hda1 hda2 hda3 hda4
[ 5.205077] ide-cd: hdc: ATAPI 4X CD-ROM drive, 512kB Cache
[ 5.205522] Uniform CD-ROM driver Revision: 3.20
done.
Begin: Mounting root file system ... Begin: Running /scripts/local-top
... done.
Begin: Waiting for root file system ... [ 41.520732] Clocksource tsc
unstable (delta = -320958477ns)
[ 41.529551] Switching to clocksource hpet

done.
Gave up waiting for root device. Common problems:
 - Boot args (cat /proc/cmdline)
   - Check rootdelay= (did the system wait long enough?)
   - Check root= (did the system wait for the right device?)
 - Missing modules (cat /proc/modules; ls /dev)
ALERT! /dev/mapper/sda_crypt does not exist. Dropping to a shell!

I verified it on two boxes and both performs correctly, therefore I'm
closing this bug as It appears to not longer exist, or isn't possible to
reproduce it.

Thanks for your work!!!
