Bug#555702: ATA drive root partition "does not exist"
Further information re this package "bug" [do not tell me it is not]:
It appears that my PATA drive devices are not existent with this new kernel package.
I boot from ATA drive
Duplicate UUID on the cloned SATA drive partition was changed.
Now I get long delay in boot and eventually a message:
" Gave up waiting for root device. Common problems:
...
ALERT! /dev/disk/by-uuid/[long UUID number] does not exist
Dropping to a shell
..."
similar message after changing GRUB2 to no UUID:
"...
ALERT! /dev/hda15 does not exist
..."
No joy with adding rootdelay=90 option to grub2
From the shell:
ls /dev/hda*
shows no devices of that name, whereas
ls /dev/sda*
shows the full complement
