FWIW Here's the last upgrade output pasted exactly as it just happened:

% sudo apt-get upgrade
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
The following packages will be upgraded:
  linux-image-2.6.26-2-686
1 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
Need to get 20,2MB of archives.
After this operation, 0B of additional disk space will be used.

FWIW it also happens on the amd64 version, exactly the same:

% sudo apt-get upgrade
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
The following packages will be upgraded:
  linux-image-2.6.26-2-amd64
1 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
Need to get 20,9MB of archives.
After this operation, 4096B of additional disk space will be used.
