Bug#532115: Kernel without Gameport Support

I have found this Message and don't know what the meaning could be:

http://packages.debian.org/changelogs/pool/main/l/linux-kernel-headers/linux-kernel-headers_2.6.18-7/changelog

linux-kernel-headers (2.6.18-1) unstable; urgency=low

   * New upstream release 2.6.18.
     - ...
     - Drop linux-joystick.patch (included upstream)
     - ...

and

http://packages.debian.org/changelogs/pool/main/l/linux-2.6/current/changelog.html

linux-2.6 (2.6.29-4) unstable; urgency=low

 [ Bastian Blank ]
   * Add stable release 2.6.29.2:
     - ...
     - Input: gameport - fix attach driver code
     - ...

Will this mean that the gameport is deactivated in the kernels between?

In my desperation to get some switching signals in to my server i have buyed now an USB-Gamepad.
This is being recognized without problems on my PC with kernel 2.6.26-1.
A lsusb is showing:
Bus 002 Device 004: ID 07b5:0213 Mega World International, Ltd Thrustmaster Firestorm Digital 3 Gamepad

But on my server with kernel 2.6.18-5 i get no chance! :-(
The USB-device is not recognized and also not listed by lsusb.
(When i make an kernel-upgrade the drivers will not run for the ISDN-card for Asterisk)
I thought all USB-devices should be listed and where recognized?
The USB-Port is O.K. - when i plug in the same port an USB-Stick it works perfect.

Here can be find a good explanation of the Hardware and needed drivers:
