The problem partially comes from here. Starting with version 2.6.18-4,
the console name has been changed to ttyS0, as shown in the changelog
entry below:

|    - bugfix/mips/sb1-duart-tts.patch, replaces mips-sb1-duart-tts.patch,
|      use standard Linux names for SB-1 consoles.
