If you have an ALPS touchpad then I believe the psmouse driver should
use the "alps" protocol variant, not "exps".  Please try using "options
proto=alps" instead.

There are some known problems and workarounds for the ALPS touchpads
documented at <http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/UltraNav#Linux_Support>.

That's not a bug.  You're telling the kernel to treat the touchpad as a
mouse, and it does what you tell it.
