Handling of EMBEDDED

Hi folks

Some days ago the issue popped up that the mips kernels misses some
options. The investigation showed that mips forcefully enables the
EMBEDDED option. This means that we currently have two completely
different set of core functions, mips and non-mips.

There are several options to fix this problem:
- Remove the "select" definition and never set EMBEDDED.
- Set EMBEDDED allways and explicitely set the whole bunch of options.
- Enable the missing options explicitely either on top or for the arch.

I must admit that I don't like the last option (and also the current
behaviour), because it forces us to manage two different featuresets.
