In your case too, there is no more "hci0 command tx timeout" with bluetooth stopped.
in my case i have a lot if i try to transfers files with bluetooth-applet

today i get the phone to say "connect with Maximiliano-0" but only some times...
later nothing, but when i press "yes" nothing happens, i try with kernel 2.6.26-1 and works great, with a newer kernel we think this works better than, but this don't happen.
with the old kernel i can send and receive files, with newer one i can't.
This should be an important information to debug this problem. I am not able to do it myself, so the next step should be to convince some developer to take the problem seriously
