Correction: I reinstalled the linux-image-2.6.32-trunk-orion5x_2.6.32-1_armel.deb (of course the flash part failed but the modules where back in sync with kernel config) and loaded the modules. But it did not recreate any device or populate /proc/mtd. Or shall I also load another mtd "generic" driver to use this device?
