Package: gnome-power-manager
Version: 2.20.0-1
Severity: important

[important because it causes data loss]

I just had gnome-power-manager shut down my machine after swapping
the battery. Sequence of events:

 (1) g-p-m warns 'battery low'
 (2) I suspend
 (3) I swap battery, the new one is full
 (4) I resume
 (5) g-p-m warns 'battery critical'
 (6) I check, battery displays 98% in g-p-m applet
 (7) g-p-m shuts down machine

Luckily I wasn't doing anything but reading a document at the time.

This is not known to be reproducible in a current stable release
<http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?msg=22;bug=448050>, and is
reported to have been fixed
<http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?msg=12;bug=448050>, so I
am closing it. It should be reopened for a specific kernel version if
the bug can be reproduced again.

Ben.
