I think it would be a good idea to reactivate /proc/scsi because if one 
have for example a scanner (like me) and it isn't always on when you 
boot the pc, you have now only the option to unload and reload the 
driver for your SCSI card. But if you have also your systemdisk at the 
same controller, this is not possible. Also programs like scsiadd and 
the scsitools need /proc/scsi for function.

This functionality is available via sysfs. The scsi host have a scan
node and the scsi device a rescan and delete node.

If the tools you use don't support that, bug them.
