Bug#547183: Further data...
Just for information, one of the machines which produced the 'omreport'
output given in my previous message, has been reinstalled (temporarily)
with RedHat 5 (because it is one of the officially Dell-supported OS,
and we wanted to ensure there was actually no hardware problem on our
servers). Under this OS, the same OpenManage tool gives this output:
[root@my-server ~]# omreport storage controller
Controller PERC 6/i Integrated (Embedded)

This seems to confirm that there is actually no problem with our
hardware, and -- more important -- that a recent enough version of the
'megaraid-sas' module (>= 00.00.03.21) is probably the only missing
thing for the Dell OpenManage tools to work seamlessly with Debian Lenny
on PowerEdge R610 servers.
Hope that helps.
