Package: linux-image-2.6.26-1-686
Version: 2.6.26-13
Severity: important
Hi,
I experienced random freezes at shutdown with 2.6.26-1-686 on my
ThinkPad T42p.
I'm sorry, but I can't provide much diagnosis. There are no log file
entries and it seems the problem occurs in a late shutdown phase. However,
the root filesystem is still mounted. I noticed that if and only if I get the
message
"Shutting down: hda"
the shutdown works fine and the computer is turned off. There is a 50%
change that the shutdown works.
Maybe the following is important: I'm using ...
* the VirtualBox 2.1.0 Kernel modules
* the madwifi WLAN driver
* the open source ati/radeon Xorg-driver
The problem disappeared after a transition to 2.6.28 (home brew).
Cheers,
Michael

Marking as fixed in 2.6.28 in unstable.
It will be difficult to pinpoint a fix for Lenny, it's likely some sort
of ACPI problem. Does the system power down reliably without the vbox
module and the madwifi driver?
Cheers,
Moritz
