Package: linux-image-2.6.30-bpo.1-686 Version: 2.6.30-1~bpo50+1 Severity: normal Dear Package Mantainer, cpufreq_ondemand doesn't work in this laptop with this kernel. In previous kernels (up to 2.6.29) was working fine but I hed to add it in /etc/modules. It seems cpufreq_ondemand module is either missing or compiled in the kernel. CPU scaling on this laptop's processor (p4 mobile 3ghz) works only with p4_clockmod, cpufreq_ondemand seems to be the only one which automatically scales the frequency based on cpu load. cpufreq_conservative doesn't work. This is my first bug report, I apologize in advance if this report is incomplete or wrong in some way. Please, let me know if you need more information or there is anything else I can do. Best Regards, Paolo Scarabelli -- Package-specific info: ** Version: Linux version 2.6.30-bpo.1-686 (Debian 2.6.30-1~bpo50+1) (nobse@debian.org) (gcc version 4.3.2 (Debian 4.3.2-1.1) ) #1 SMP Sun Jun 28 18:13:49 UTC 2009 ** Command line: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.30-bpo.1-686 root=UUID=73b2ff46-a22b-42af-bfb4-27226a224927 ro ** Tainted: P (1) ** Kernel log: [ 14.302812] wifi0: Use hw queue 9 for beacons [ 14.339755] wifi0: Atheros 5212: mem=0x54000000, irq=11 [ 15.628035] AC'97 1 does not respond - RESET [ 15.644032] AC'97 1 access is not valid [0xffffffff], removing mixer.
