Hi,

I have been chasing down this issue myself and I believe it is the same 
as this issue:

I have determined that it is unlikely to be a kernel issue because the 
cdrtools package that cdrkit package was forked from a bazillion years 
ago does not produce this issue. You can grab the source and build a deb 
package of the cdrtools from here if you want to get around it for now:

http://deb.grml.org/pool/main/c/cdrtools/

I'll add more notes to #455728 about this issue in a separate email.
