The second is a smc elite card which I have previously configured ok as eth1 with the wd module. This was on earlier kernel versions and I used modconf or modprobe to specify the parameters - io=0x240 irq=10 mem=0xd0000. No problem with that. I recently have reloaded the machine with etch and cannot get it to function. The wd driver exists in /lib/modules/2.6.26-1-686/kernel/drivers/net/wd.ko. when I try to insert the module into the kernel I get the error message no such device or address. On boot the machine gives two relevant messages - 'PCI: setting irq10 as level triggered' and 'PCI: found irq10 for device 0000:00:0d.0' Appreciate your help!

Does this error still occur with more recent kernel versions?

Cheers,
