Package: kernel-image-2.6.10-i386 Severity: wishlist Hi, PREEMPT might be a nice feature for desktop users who reboot their box 3 times a day, but it should be disabled for stability reasons, especially on the SMP flavours. This concerns both 2.6.8-i386 and 2.6.10-i386 kernel images. We should seek a consensus among the kernel team members whether or not PREEMPT should be enabled, if supported by the corresponding architecture. For some concerns, see http://kerneltrap.org/node/2702 Kind regards Frederik Schueler -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.10-1-k7-smp Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8)Attachment: pgpJ_c95a7ISU.pgp
